The Path to a Decentralized Future for Science

The way science is done and communicated today hinders the advancement of human knowledge.

Imagine a young scientist with a new technology with amazing new findings. And take into account that this scientist does not belong to a top lab or university. Yes, there is a rank system in Academia.

Do you believe this scientist will be able to do science or publish? I will give you a fact as an example: The mRNA vaccine which you probably have already tested which took decades to reach the mainstream. To whom this system serves? Society and the market need a new future for science and scientific publications.

In envisioning a new future for science, it is imperative to address the limitations of the existing system that hinders the advancement of human knowledge. Recognizing the potential of young scientists, regardless of their affiliation with top labs or universities, is crucial for fostering innovation and progress. By embracing decentralization and creating a network of scientists, we can shape a new paradigm that enables the democratization of scientific research and publications.

In this future, a decentralized network of scientists will be established, allowing researchers from diverse backgrounds and institutions to collaborate seamlessly. This network will transcend traditional hierarchical structures, providing equal opportunities for all scientists to contribute and share their knowledge. Meritocracy will prevail, valuing the quality of ideas and discoveries rather than the reputation of affiliations, sources of funded research and journals where this scientist published in “away-from-scientific-meritocracy” brand association. Usually, brand associations are unbalanced towards the brand.

Within this network, a supportive and inclusive ecosystem will flourish. New communication channels and platforms will be developed, fostering open collaboration, idea exchange, and peer feedback. Researchers will be able to connect with like-minded individuals, form interdisciplinary collaborations, and access resources that aid in their scientific endeavors.

To ensure the integrity and credibility of scientific findings, a decentralized peer review system will be implemented. Instead of relying solely on a small group of gatekeepers, the network will empower a diverse community of researchers to participate in the peer review process.
