Benefits and Opportunities for Members

There are many benefits to join the deScier community.

Any member can be part and govern deScier by acquiring $deSci governance tokens through the contribution of funds or by earning it through the contribution of work, research data, IP assets, or services to deScier. deScier will develop its treasury through a share of the submission fees in the publication initiative and share in commissioned research, events, education to further develop its assets. Unissued $deSci will be part of the deScier treasury.

$deSci will be used as a governance and curation token. Ownership of $deSci allows the holder to participate in the governance of deScier, and thus, direct its future on publications, research and the other initiatives and, to access and monetize its solutions, and manage its portfolio.

deScier will use Non- Fungible Token technical frameworks (NFTs) such as EIP-X? to publish, curate, govern and also monetize the ecosystem.

Stakeholders

deScier will use of collaboration between members, working groups, partners and service providers to facilitate all functions of the community.

Members

A member of deScier is an individual or entity that stakes $deSci into deScier’s governance smart contract to participate in voting. Members can only obtain tokens by providing funds or work for the organization. Members have full governance rights and can participate in governance on Discourse (informally https://discuss.descier.science) and via token-based voting (formally, such as Snapshot).

Working Group Members

A working group member provides expertise and advice to deScier. Members can apply to join working groups based on their experience or expertise. Working groups elect working group stewards, who are responsible for leading working groups. Working groups may decide to create incentives for their members in a variety of forms, including paying them for services or creating bounties. In cases where working group members are paid, they can be compensated in $deSci tokens, ETH, cash, or other incentive schemes as decided by members.

Working Groups

The initial working groups are:

  1. Governance – The Genesis Team

  2. Publications

  3. Tokenomics

  4. Education & Awareness

  5. Research & Development

  6. Legal & Business Development

  7. Compensation & Incentives/

  8. Operational

Service Providers

Service providers are members who provide services to deScier. These services can be: development work, NFTs conversion, marketplace services, business development services outside of project scope, IP registering, distributed servers, decentralized financial services and so on. deScier will contract service providers and pay for their services in fiat or offered tokens in exchange.
